Grand Sentinel Cardiac Arete (5.10d)

The hike alone is worth it! Hiking through the Valley of the Ten Peaks reminded me of my very brief trek through the Himalaya years ago. The word ‘stunning’ does not do it justice. And the climb is, of course, ABSURDLY GOOD. My only beef with this climb is that it’s only four pitches! We liked it so much we climbed it in the rain! All you need is a 50 or 60 meter rope to rappel, as the pitches are 25meters. You can link 2 for 1 easily enough, or just go slow and take in the scenery. There is usually a 4-person minimum restriction for hiking the trail because of the bears .. and let me tell you, they are HUNGRY and AGGRESSIVE. Watch out!
